The Christian nationalist movement today is authoritarian, paranoid and patriarchal at its core. They aren’t fighting a culture war. They’re making a direct attack on democracy itself.https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/31/opinion/trump-evangelicals-cyrus-king.html …

Yet they think they're being persecuted when someone wishes them Happy Holidays. Today's American Christians don't know what persecution is.

Christianity has plenty varying styles, fought wars over and over for a millenia, forced people into submission and just as well crafted and redrafted its ideology and religious values. This is history and religion and how it loses itself by allowing certain groups to push

        3) piped piper duped followers. This happens in much religious circles, it starts out as a message against oppressive people, but is mangled, abused and twisted to fit the interests of those that see opportunity in using it as a means of getting followers to give them power

Trumpism is in the process of morphing into a religion. Sounds crazy, but I think it is just a matter of time before we start hearing about the doctrine of the "quadrenity" - Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and Donald Trump. Didn't the Romans engage in emperor worship toward the end?

Funny how these stories weren't written during Obama's years in office when Christian Nationalists were arguing that they were being "prosecuted" because the gov't was requiring insurance coverage for birth control or because they were being forced to provide services to LGBT.

I believe you have confused Christianity with the fascist left and their partners of the moment, radical Islamists, as the real threat to democracy. It’s not those on the right pushing for suppression of free speech and blasphemy laws.
