Whoa that's a great take. But would Israelis ever enter into a non-apartheid one state where Palestinians were given equal rights? That seems like a bridge too far from here...
8 years ago I wrote an OpEd for @NPR saying 2STATE SOLUTION is dead; we need to start prepping for ONE STATE. I was roundly mocked for the opinion, even by NPR’s own hosts (looking at you Robert Seigel). Now more than a 1/3 of all Americans agree with me.

More accurate to call this idea two states, one country? Perhaps I'm being semantic, but that's what you seem to be describing: two semi-autonomous political territories with one government body for both.
