I think you are wrong about this this time. Prof Anita Hill was an adult when she was harassed. Dr Ford was a child. A fifteen year old child. Dr Ford has obviously been steeped in "be a good girl" all her life.

It’s been a difficult morning for a lot of us today.
I think this thread started over a pundits comment on CNN where she juxtaposed the personas of Prof Hill & Dr. Ford while testifying. The pundit alluded to the fact that Hill represented strength & Ford vulnerability -
For us WOC that unfortunately is a long standing troupe w/alot to unpack. For some its interpreted as the world never us as vulnerable. For others its reinforcing a stereotype that b/c we’re “so strong” the types of things they describe couldn’t really have hurt that much anyway

I understand that. You die of heart attacks at a greater rate because you take so much on yourselves to be the strong one and the world puts so much on you without asking to be the strong ones. I'll be more careful with my language. Thank you for educating me.

On one hand Im glad she can show her vulnerability & it be respected as a strength while on the other I am saddened that projecting strength as #AnitaHill did, was seen as a weakness. I think the time period is a huge component. We've come a long way since 1991. If that was done today, I think Clarence Thomas wouldn't be a Supreme Court Justice. If Thomas was a white judge, I'd see race being used against her, but he isn't.
