        The overall number of people who identify as Republican has been dropping significantly since Trump's election.

        Yes, that number really has skyrocketed. That eats away at the argument that politicians need to curb their criticism of Trump in predominantly white non-college communities.

        But as always, the more important question is "Will you vote for Trump's opponent in 2020"? One does not guarantee the other.

        Agree. But in this case none of these numbers mean much because of the dem/gop split in the last two ststs. These numbers are pretty much just detailing the dem membership.
