I seem to remember a small town rabbi who intervened in a lawful public execution to make a point about hypocrisy and capital punishment. BTW, he was also a victim of trumped up charges, false imprisonment and public execution.

Funny how Christians who promote violence always quote the Old Testament. The words of Jesus and the apostles just aren't cruel enough, but the very term "Christian" means follower of Christ. Following the angry god is more convenient.

This is a maxim: if a “Christian” must quote the O.T to make a point, there is a large probability said point is denounced, usually by Christ Himself, in the N.T. And the earlier the book, the worse it is. Found only in the Pentateuch=Torquemada would probably torch you for it.
