Okay I’ve power cycled the Sega CD a few times, moved a save to internal from external, created new saves, and everything still works. At least on my set-up I’m not seeing the “Dark Wizard” bug that earlier revisions of this cart had.

It should be noted that the cart has a 2017 revision while most of the forum posts listing the bug are for 2014-2015-ish. Perhaps
