There is nothing extraordinary whatsoever about the idea that hackers at some point between 2006-2011 used credentials we know they had access to, in order to harass Joy. We know they were being radicalized by white nationalists during that time, in fact.
Whoever vandalized the blog over the years (probably some gross incel club) is a separate and distinct group from the people who have been trying to get Joy fired since December for daring to say that Bernie is dismissive of women in his presence.

The current people harassing Joy came upon the work of old harassers and leveraged it.
-
Joy became too successful and busy to pay much attention to her old blog, and the men who are always lurking, waiting for a chance to get her in some way, took advantage of that. Now a new generation gives new life to their work.

If a post goes up with an old date and no comments, it's easy to miss it. My once noteworthy blog had a post published that was just random notes of mine, mostly gibberish, and it was there for two years before I saw it.
-
Yes, and it seems like in some cases the vandals may have just changed content that was already up, that wouldn't even create a new link.
-
Exactly. No reader would see it appear on their RSS feed or anything like that, either.
