“This is crazy!” “Just pay your bills!” “You need higher interest for poor people!” 1st of all, 15% interest is already a TON. Most credit unions are subject to usury law; they’re quite sound. in fact, they’re the few who DIDN’T need a bailout in ‘08. So let’s talk about it ⬇️

REMINDER: You can still get an abortion in Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, and Georgia. If you need abortion care, please reach out to your local provider for information. The laws banning abortion aren't in effect yet — and we will fight to ensure they never will be.

The program — which risks violating the Fourth Amendment — is just the latest scheme by ICE to enlist local police in its abusive deportation agenda. They should resist this dangerous proposal and stand by their commitment to the communities they serve.

The woman who said Emmett Till came onto her lied about what he said. The officer who killed Oscar Grant lied about what he did. The police withheld video of Sandra Bland that tells a different story. There’s a long history of black ppl being killed based on someone else’s lie.

Quick crash course on what Jim Crow looks like in the 21st century. Jim Crow grew up to be James Crow Esquire, and cloaks himself in a suit instead of a hood.

In 1787, the Constitution considered Black people as three-fifths of a human being. Blacks voting was not an issue. Then came the Civil War, the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments, birthright citizenship, and Black property ownership. Then we got Jim Crow.

The Legislature ignored the bipartisan will of nearly 65 percent of Florida's electorate, who voted to pass Amendment 4 by a wider margin than any other statewide office or initiative in November. Floridians will not forget, nor will we.

Thank you for speaking to power. The actions of this legislature indicate many have no regard for black and brown communities. We the voters need to remember who stood up for us and who did not — elections have consequences.

For decades, state lawmakers had the chance to be on the right side of history and restore the right to vote to returning citizens but failed to do so. Now, they are undermining the will of 5.1 million Florida voters who passed .

This is a great big slap in the face to the voters and a way to discourage people from participating in the process. There’s a stark disconnect between the joy and jubilation in November compared to folks now trying to do things in Tallahassee when no one is paying attention.

Instead of following the will of Florida voters, the legislature has chosen to thwart access to the ballot box and a historic citizens’ initiative that re-enfranchised 1.4 million people. Floridians will not forget–nor will we.

On this day thirty years ago, Trump bought $85k worth of ads in NYC papers calling for the execution of boys known as The Central Park 5 - before their trial. Today, we replace his hateful ad with another image. They were innocent. And the system failed them.

Pretty convenient that Republicans like Meghan McCain never speak up about the Islamophobia coming from their own party, but find a way blame right-wing terror attacks against Jewish ppl on Muslims too. They're running interference for white nationalists.
