Greed and power can never be allowed to conspire to extinguish a human life. The murder of Jamal Khashoggi is a vicious attack on the press, on free speech, and basic human rights.

It's hard not to see parallels to the Civil Rights Movement when reporters were threatened, beaten, & attacked for attempting to shine a light on injustices perpetrated in the Deep South. The administration’s weak & feeble response demonstrates whose side they really fight for.

I continue to be grateful for the brave reporters and members of the press who face unspeakable threats and their work to ensure no acts of evil may be swept under the rug and hidden from the light of justice.https://twitter.com/washingtonpost/status/1052872765601136640 …

Worse than a blind eye. How many times has he attacked the Washington Post? Do you think the Crown Prince knew that killing one of their writers would meet with approval and a blind-eye at the White House?
-
This. 100% this. Trump all but announced open season on journalists. And the dictators of the world took notice. Jamal Khashoggi’s blood is on Trump’s hands. His participation in the cover up in the name of arms sale money just seals the deal. -
Absolutely! Did trump not announce at the UN a few weeks ago that he's not going to interfere in other countries business?
-
U.S. had intelligence reports of this threat to his life and did not act on them. Trump administration is complicit.
-
I would not be surprised if Trump intimated to Saudi that a certain journalist needed to “disappear”. He watches his mentor Putin orchestrating deaths all the time. Imitation is the highest form of flattery after all.
-
I swear this administration is reading like any number of bad 80s movies with a ridiculously exaggerated corrupt villain. Where the hell is our Superman? Our “Bruce” Leeroy Greene?
#VoteBlueToSaveAmerica2018 -
Look in the mirror, Dave. There's your Superman. The only one who's going to show up. Start where you are. Act locally. We *all* must do this or we are lost.
-
It was more of a play on the trope that we are in a bad 80s movie. I am active. I have been canvassing my local community and speaking with candidates about the issues.

Could Congress issue some sort of statement condemning this action? It's clear the self-investigation is useless.
-
That’s what mystifies me. Congress is saying nothing. When Daniel Pearl was murdered, it was a huge deal. Jamāl gets nothing. Jamāl was a legal permanent resident here. One of us. Why is this being shrugged off?
-
Even if a majority wouldn't sign it, I would like to see some expression standing for the American people who are outraged and saddened.
-
Time to call your representatives loud and clear and often about our Congress taking a stand because our president sure won't.

When an evangelical leader says one man's life is not worth losing $110billion? There's evil going on, the likes of which we have never seen.pic.twitter.com/vZvjJuK7XG

Amen, VR! I am appalled by the corruption that is unchecked!
-
I'm shocked at the public statement. I would've guessed something along these lines was happening behind the scenes, but not to this extent. I think we all know what's truly happening here and it's progressed so fast. Fast for their hateful goals. Midterms can't come fast enough.
-
VR, I am so tired of the
#evangelicals pretending to be the voice of reason and the voice of God's will. They aren't. They are the voice of#OldWhiteMen! I am ready to#vote and for the#BlueWave2018 -
I think they are the voice of something even worse, the same voice those old white men follow! Evil!
