One of the tenets of “never forget” is Our Obligation to Remember the Stranger and the Immigrant on Passover #DACA and it’s considered a mitzvah to have compassion and sympathy for the oppressed.

The most defenseless in society are usually the slaves, strangers, widows, & orphans, & we are repeatedly enjoined by the Torah to be sensitive to their plight. The stranger, in particular, personifies the helpless one who has no family or friends to intercede on his behalf.
