Please explain to the tax payers why they should subsidize logging on public lands for export to China. Why are we paying to prop up Chinese manufacturing? Either keep AK logs for AK sawmills and AK manufacturing or don’t log at all.
Thank you @SecretarySonny for recognizing the detrimental effect the 2001 #RoadlessRule has had on SE Alaska. Tourists don’t come to Alaska to see industrial clear cut forests. Tourism is growing, doesn’t cost tax payers any money and provides thousands of local jobs. Why risk this growing economy to leap back to the past? Why pay to subsidize destructive unsustainable costly logging?
