No parent should have to worry if their child will be killed at school, at the grocery store, or at church. Families and communities across our country deserve better.

My friend is right: The designation of Avi Kwa Ame opens a new chapter of working together with Tribal nations, the federal government, and local leaders to protect our environment. And as we often do, Nevada’s leading the way.

Leaks of classified information like we’ve recently seen are deeply troubling, could be damaging, and cannot be allowed to happen again. They not only threaten our national security, but send the wrong message to our allies.

DACA recipients are our friends, neighbors, and colleagues. They deserve a shot at the American dream and access to quality health care. The Administration’s action today is the right one.

Today, my Administration is announcing our plan to expand health coverage for Dreamers, the thousands of young people brought to the U.S. as kids. We’re not done fighting for their pathway to citizenship, but we're getting them the opportunities they deserve in the meantime.

Millions of Americans depend on Medicaid, and almost half of all births in the U.S. are covered by it. We can’t afford to cut the benefits so many children, seniors, and families rely on. #MedicaidMatters

If the recent decision on mifepristone is allowed to stand, it would eliminate access to abortion medication even in states that protect the right to choose. For now it’s still safe, effective, and accessible, and I’ll fight to keep it that way.

Don't let anyone tell you that there's nothing we can do to stop mass shootings in our country. Don't let them say we're "not going to fix it." Too many communities and too many families are grieving. Congress can act to stop gun violence. We must.

Supporting performers and local venues is critical to both the economy and the spirit of Las Vegas. What a thrill to watch the Huntridge Theater marquee light up again, for the first time in two decades.

I’ve said before that the campaign to undermine women’s reproductive freedom didn’t end when Roe was overturned. I won’t apologize for defending a woman’s right to choose, including choosing abortion medication. This ruling is out of step and dangerous.

What happened today in the TN legislature was unacceptable and yes, un-American. I taught American government at UNLV, and protesting injustice has always been a part of our country’s story. These duly elected representatives should not have been expelled. Full stop.

It’s not complicated: Women deserve the right to make decisions about their own bodies. That means the right to choose, and the right to make those decisions with her family and her doctor. Not the federal government.

Happy Nevada Tartan Day! My bill in the state legislature, NRS 235.130, designated this pattern as the official Nevada tartan with Tahoe blue, snowy silver and white, red from our desert rock formations, and yellow representing sagebrush.

Tule Springs. Basin & Range. Gold Butte. And now Avi Kwa Ame. Each push took time and effort, but was well worth it. I helped carry the baton to designate these treasured spaces so future generations could enjoy them for years to come.

Medicaid is the single largest payer for mental health services in the country. Too many of my Republican colleagues want to put it on the chopping block. We need to expand coverage and lower costs, not threaten the care that so many rely on.
