Because its our 2nd amendment right. The shooting never should have happened if somebody did their job when it was first reported that he was a possible treat.
Oregon law to allow judge to take guns away from people deemed a threat to themselves or others, like the Florida shooter, could’ve made a real difference. Why can’t we consider that for a national law?

I hope the OR law is more specific on what deems someone a threat. Otherwise application of said law could be fairly subjective. Why not just ban assault weapons?

I would enjoy to see the defeatist languaging here turned over, coming out as “We the legislators who work for Oregon, are determined to spearhead a drive to bring our Progressive gun safety standard to the rest of the nation, beginning with...”.
