Thank you @repblumenauer for standing up for sensible solutions, instead of the insanity of pushing for the same failed Drug War policy for decades.

Portugal has had great success with decriminalization for the past 16 years. Why not adapt their policy for the USA? Don’t overlook the fact that the newest front in the War on Drugs, the opioid epidemic, is brought to you by Big Pharma. Can’t worry about people dying when there’s profits to be made.

Like most wars we have initiated- expensive, a made matters worse and worst of all many Americans die needlessly. When will we ever learn? When will we ever learn!

So then why are there so few congressmen and senators that are trying to fix the problem? Are they truly bought by their donors or just don’t care? Either way, I have lost faith in the elected officials in our government.

Aren't you behind the times? The US gave up that term 9 years ago. Why shouldn't we help people get off drugs? Isn't that the most humane thing to do?

Gov't throws money at problems they'd rather not deal with. They pretend to be stopping the drug problem when they're really supporting it. We must apply the same effort we would if it were our own son or daughter or it will remain a problem. Demand is highest in the US!
