Last month, I became the 7th Member of Congress to co-sponsor @RashidaTlaib’s legislation to open an impeachment inquiry. 2/

I did so because after reviewing the #MuellerReport it was clear that this was the appropriate next step. 3/

Serious allegations were laid out but #SpecialCounselMueller was unable to pursue criminal charges against the President. 4/

I disagree that a President is somehow #AboveTheLaw and can’t be charged while in office. But #Congress2019 has the power to do something about it. 5/

House committees are doing oversight, but we have never seen as much obstruction to those efforts as we have with Trump. P.S. #Obstruction is an #ImpeachableOffense. 6/

My team and I researched and spoke with experts and confirmed that an official #ImpeachmentInquiry is given more latitude by the courts to compel witnesses and testimony. 7/

The Judiciary Committee can start an impeachment inquiry OR the House of Representatives can vote to start an inquiry. 8/

Congresswoman @RepRashida dug in and drafted a House Resolution to launch an #ImpeachmentInquiry (#H.Res.257). 9/
