Outside the major cities life without a vehicle would make life extremely difficult. If I could hop on a train in Newport and travel to Portland, that would be great. But reality is that will never happen in my lifetime. So, I will continue to drive my fossil fuel truck.

Mixing auto and bicycle traffic is inherintly dangerous even with bike lanes. Developing workable mass transit system first will reduce the auto traffic and allow for safer bicycle commuters.

I don't know how to ride a bicycle, but I still need to go to work every day. This is a bad idea.

Thank you! I ride an e-assist cargo bike to work every day, often stopping to pick up my daughter, groceries, library books, etc. It is a game changer and has a huge impact on our lives. We own a car but only need it occasionally. Looking forward to being car-free again someday!

I need some way to carry all my tools and supplies to work, do they make a contractors bike?

Carbs provide us calories. Please use some calories toward how you can address the drug addiction and overdose epidemic. (Or please tell us why you feel these other issues are more pressing.)
