Today was the first step of many to #EndGunViolence by passing #HR8 for universal background checks.
This movement has provided a better Congress & given us leadership that leads, instead of thoughts and prayers with no progress. We MUST treat this public health crisis.

Nothing in the 2nd amendment states that it is contingent on passing a background check. However, there is a few words that states that the 2nd amendment shalt not be infringed. Does on need a permit to exercise their 1st amendment rights? 5th? Please explain!

i really wish you'd stop lying to your constituents on this topic, Representative, there is no epidemic the way you and those like you claim. it there was, our murder rate would be the top of literally every statistic you could name. we don't even rate the top 10.

Will this Bill STOP CRIMINALS, who already posses Illegal Firearms (who are able to secure Illegal weapons) from acts of violence? Of course not. All this does is create a National Registry, similar to that which was imposed by Hitler. Current background checks are sufficient...
