People in Florida are donating food for our Coast Guard families. It is humiliating to be an American overseas. The world laughed, then shook their heads, then made jokes, now they simply feel sorry for the American people.
More than 9500 federal employees in OR haven't received paychecks since the shutdown, and now many are turning to food stamps, food banks, and/or unemployment claims to make ends meet. We should be asking corporations who just got another windfall from the government to step up to help people en masse. And the banks that got a bailout from all of us through our tax money a decade ago should absolutely be giving grace to Fed employees without delay.
