It also shows that NBC's story about the Mueller investigation sending a report in February was wrong like all the ones before it, right?
-
-
-
I'd take that with a grain of salt. Just because defense attorneys think Mueller is wrapping up something doesn't mean that the entire investigation is over.
-
Fair enough but these are the first 2 sentences of the NBC story. At the very least extending a grand jury 6 months does not signal someone who's "nearing the end of his investigation" or simply "tying up loose ends"pic.twitter.com/xccSthkxZs
-
The lawyer's quote doesn't back up the first sentence, because a defense attorney can't know all of the aspects of Mueller's investigation. They could be wrapping up loose ends as to a particular aspect of the investigation.
-
Exactly. Mueller don’t leak.

This doesn’t agree with Ken Dilanian’s reporting that Mueller will wrap things up in Feb.
-
He could wrap up in February, but I haven't seen anything that indicates he will do so.
-
I would think from a logical standpoint though that when you take a step back and see the many pieces on the table, it stretches logic to think it would be that soon though.
-
I tend to agree. At the same time, Ken is a responsible journalist to report smth that he wouldn’t believe to be correct. So either his sources r wrong or they lied to him.
-
It can be a challenge for journalists to put what they hear in the right context, so they draw accurate conclusions. Sometimes they can be led astray by sources who read too much into an isolated event, or legal analysts who leap to unwarranted conclusions.
-
Thank you. I hope we’ll hear from
@KenDilanianNBC as well if he can check back with his sources. -
@KenDilanianNBC got defensive when@SethAbramson made an observation that the story was most probably incorrect. It was surprising he wrote it and even more surprising that he was defensive about it. -
Exactly. Ken’s should check back with his sources and press them on the veracity of their info. Did they give him facts? Opinions? Educated guess - based on what? Maybe I’m in a minority on this, but I’d like to know more.

Does the GJ come into session - actually meet -- only when called my Mueller? How much notice do they get? Trying to understand the actual mechanics of this, for the people on the jury.
-
Grand juries meet on a regular basis, often once a week. There could be weeks when they are not needed because no witness is coming in to testify or indictment is ready to be presented.
