A funny info-op meant to make us believe, among many other things, that Russian state-controlled TV ever risks live broadcasting. Everything is pre-planned in Putin’s Russia, ranging from “incidents” to genocidal invasions. Grow up people.pic.twitter.com/8lW9vTR64H

I read more and more „pacifist“ statements on Twitter and elsewhere (Ukrainian armed resistance and sanctions need to end to stop bloodshed etc) - you are not pacifists, you are in fact Putin’s collaborators. Peace will come once the aggressor is defeated.

If you want to know what bravery looks like, go to the maternity hospital in Mikolayev. Staff are performing C-sections as the city comes under bombardment, in operating theatres kept as dark as possible so they’re not targeted.

8\ I do not have to tell you that Olia sees the future in less bright colours, especially with having had to leave her husband behind. She is contemplating leaving Svieta with her older sister in Marburg and going back. I hope she doesn't, and that her husband can join them soon.

7\ Once here, they slept for 12 hours straight. Mom Olia was dreaming of home-made buckwheat and Svieta of salami pizza, so we made/ordered both. I asked Svieta how bad it was for her to leave home. She said she heard there's almost no homework in German schools, so it's alright.

6\ Hungary was apparently totally different. They attempted to rent a room for a night in a hostel (with proper money), but were told the hostel has no room for refugees. People around were unfriendly and unwelcoming, so Olia and Svieta hurried through to get to Vienna.

5\ Olia and Svieta have good things to say about Romania. In 3 days there they were fed for free multiple times. A hotel owner refused to be paid for a room. A guy took them across town to show where to buy propane since their car doesn't run on gasoline. People cried with them.

4\ They spent 15 hours in the line of cars on the Romanian border. They were cold, hungry and exhausted. 9-year-old Svieta who had a cold before developed fever. When they finally reached the border post, Romanian guards waved them in without even looking inside their passports.

3\ Mom Olia can't drive. She has a license, but she's never driven further than the next supermarket in Izmail. She is afraid of highways, can't remember signs, didn't know how to use a navigation. She drove 1421 km to Vienna by herself out of fear that her child would see war.
