Why haven't academics, who have termed austerity deaths 'economic murder' and the deaths of disabled persons related to Britain’s benefit system 'social murder'—called for a criminal investigation? Are they afraid of being sacked from their teaching posts if they're too vocal?

A huge hug to today. I was a kids tv presenter at the same time & the pressure to keep your life secret was crushing. This tweet captures the press attitudes at the time. Today Phillip can be himself. We should all be able to be happy & proud of who we are & who we love.

  8. Start by dropping "offenders". Their only offence was being born in another part of our empire (and being coloured). I don't see people like Sir Cliff Richard being "sent home". Stop the racism.

  9. I have just got up! Apart from a couple of toilet breaks I've had 12 hours of sleep. I think I might have needed it. I won't say I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed, but I'm more alert than usual.

Glad to see the UK reads 5.7 tonnes per capital, but it could and should be much, much lower.

Joined in with the Coffee Fellowship. I struggled to get up and ready, had to bully myself into getting dressed. It was lovely. G's wife had died a couple of nights ago, but he was there. It was great that we could all rally around. Also three other unexpected people came.

I'm currently with my dad, who is on a trolley in the corridor in A&E. Anyone who says the NHS is coping is a fool. They need more money and staff and they need it now.

No wonder Amber Rudd hadn't a clue when DWP Secretary. She's so rich she has no idea what poverty is.

The light in this window is ALWAYS burning. Turns out a girl whose lover was going to war (WW1) promised she’d leave it burning until he came home. He never did; she never married and never let it go out. It’s now enshrined in the freehold of the house. 102 years and still on ❤️

This is about par for the course on Universal Credit. It's a shock to those who have worked all their lives and suddenly need support from the government.

A new government funding formula will require Liverpool City Council to find another £27m of savings each year from 2021. That's another £27m on the £436m already cut by Government since 2010...

Liverpool has had enough cuts. It needs investment, not further cuts. This is one place that Universal Credit has done its worst. Yet, the government have no mercy.
