AG Barr says in letter to US attorney Geoffrey Berman that the president has now officially fired Berman at Barr's request. Barr says Berman's deputy, Audrey Strauss, will become acting US attorney for SDNY (per statute).

Doesn't this letter need to be signed BY TRUMP to count as Trump officially firing Berman? At this point we have Barr firing Berman, which apparently he cannot legally do.
