    Most last-mile communities don't have an official government. The leadership and community growth rely on civil society leaders to connect their communities with knowledge, opportunities, resources, and even solving the community issues.

    Female refugee leaders face more challenges than male leaders. They need to show their leadership and influence in a traditionally male environment and sometimes challenge rigid & ancient cultural standards and gender roles. They have proved though they fear no challenges! 💪🏻

    Bene Kimate and his team also provided clean water to the vulnerable ones in Goma since the tap water wasn’t safe to drink due to volcanic ash and smoke.

    Bene was able to assist 103 children. Nearly 1,000 children were separated from their parents amidst the chaos following the volcano eruption back in May 2021. These unaccompanied minors were taken to Social Affairs Division, which later would reconnect them to their families.
