As this president prepares to give the State of Union, a couple of things to remember. ✔️Undocumented immigrants pay taxes ✔️Asylum seeking families show up to their court hearings. ✔️Immigration does NOT = more crime ✔️Trump is at 16k lies + misleading statements and counting

Really annoyed that people keep countering the travel ban with “Nigeria being the most educated immigrant groups”. Human beings deserve to travel and migrate. FULL STOP. Stop appealing to white supremacy. Literally the U.S. passport allows you to go anywhere in the world

The latest on refugees and migrants, the most vulnerable of our brothers and sisters, should disgust anyone with a heart. These families are fleeing violence and persecution. You don't care for people only when it's convenient. What kind of country have we become?

“Les ayudo a entender que en México también hay sueños”, dice Priscila con un tono de orgullo. So proud of our Priscila who helps run our deportee program in TJ. A deportee herself, she has given so much hope to our clients. Read her inspiring journey.

language matters! instead of saying “alcohol/drug abuser” try “*substance* misuser” instead! instead of calling people “felons,” try “returning citizens.” avoid calling people “illegal,” when they’re simply “undocumented.” dehumanizing language contributes to bad policy!

Today is the 1 year anniversary of the Trump administration’s horrific policy (also known as MPP). Asylum seekers are enduring violence, children are being violated, and families are being torn apart. This must end.

Every day we care for patients at the US-Mexico border seeking asylum. Forced to wait in Tijuana under MPP, many have been raped, kidnapped, or unable to access appropriate care for complex medical problems. As healthcare providers we demand an end to MPP.

One thing you can do TODAY to help : Call your representative and ask them to co-sponsor the Asylum Seeker Protection Act, which would end the Remain in Mexico policy. 📞(202) 224-3121 (Script in next tweets)
