To be crystal clear, whatever one thinks of Maduro's politics and their impact on Venezuela, to willfully forego the most accurate term for what the opposition is trying to do right now to remove him is simply biased journalism in service of US foreign policy conventional wisdom.

What is more offensive? The coup or just not calling it a coup? Not being a citizen of Venezuela, I have no true frame of reference. Sure, I know the numbers due to inflation, but I have no feet on the ground.

See my reply to my tweet. The press has an obligation to fairly, forthrightly report the facts. If the same scenario were taking place in a nation where US CW preferred the existing leader, I suspect the MSM would adopt "coup" very frequently to describe the events happening.
