That's an awesome icebreaker in an interview! "Ever charged with a felony?" "This one time in Iowa... Yeah. I'm that guy. "
-
That and could even prevent getting a foot in the door/interview if a background check is done Initially. Having this charge is a big deal. Needs to be cleared/expunged. Thinking there are other things that are affected too.

You shouldn’t! Your corporate attorney and your personal attorney needs to fight this. Completely cleared and/or expunged!! I’d say I’m speechless and shocked, but our “justice” system never ceases to amaze me. Any politicians in your state helping? smdh

In the state of Iowa we can get it expunged, but it's my understanding at the moment that we'll always have federal records, our prints our in NCIC, etc. Background checks will show it, and will likely show anytime we get pulled over. Frames us as guilty regardless of dismissal

Texas allows for the expungement of charges that were dismissed. This is the PDF from the Texas state bar website. https://www.texasbar.com/AM/Template.cfm?Section=Our_Legal_System1&Template=/CM/ContentDisplay.cfm&ContentID=23459 …

It was Dallas county in Iowa, a bit confusing. Same w Iowa, can get it expunged at a state level, but as far as we're aware right now will still have federal records.

No way to petition courts to expunge arrest record? Would be an interesting conversation with any agent conducting a background investigation for a clearance. Lol.

Curious, does that now set precedence for a municipality to pay for criminality?
