It’s a "civil rights investigation" in the same way that I "am going to meet the right man.”

Princeton - "Hey we're racist and this racism is embedded in our institution." DOJ - "You are? We should probably take a look at that."

It’s an attempt to stop similar institutions making similar statements, not a sincere investigation into a problem the administration doesn’t believe exists.

If the DOJ just launched this without cause you'd be 100% absolutely correct. They are launching a civil rights investigation because of Princeton's own comments. You don't have to like it, but it's their own fault.

Their statement racism is “embedded” in Princeton is either a serious one or its not.

It is an entirely serious statement, which this administration is not taking seriously. Of course the university that helped produce a biography of Woodrow Wilson that his own family would find a touch hagiographic has a problem here, as do most institutions!

Great, so if it's a serious statement that should be taken seriously, then it should perhaps be investigated seriously if civil rights are being violated by this serious institution.
