I’ve isolated and slowed the moment of the fart. You can clearly see Swalwell brace forward, tense up for a moment, and then relax. He dealt it.

He even inhales and holds it to help ease the release, before then saying the word “election” as visible in this gif.

He then returns to his normal speaking posture prior to the fart and holds that posture for the duration of the clip. He thinks he got away with it.

A slightly longer, slowed version with the full tension & release. Also notice the slight twinge on his left cheek. This is a terrified man doing his all to keep it together.

Take note of the brief pause between
“This____Election” his words pause as his posture swells, bracing for an imminent ejection.

I'm not saying that Swalwell was definitely the one that ripped it, but in slow motion you can see his body lift up momentarily as he takes a break from speaking just as the fart is unleashed. #fartgate

People are suggesting a microphone could not have picked up the fart therefore it must be studio. But that’s not true. Camera crews often times use boom mics for efficiency quick set up. Swalwell is also not wearing a lavalier lapel mic

Most likely it was a boom mic being utilized as you can hear ambient background noise echoing around Swalwell as well - Listen only to echos and voices around him:

A large or even directional boom mic over Swalwell’s head would pick up any loud registered & sudden noise directly around or coming out of Swalwell. A lapel mic would not - but he’s not wearing a lapel mic on his jacket or tie.
