I was born in Sambourne, near Redditch, and still have family there and nearby. I believed in the official Tory party policy towards Europe, like Ken Clarke, all my adult life, but you are now taking away the freedom of future generations to study, live, work or retire in the EU.
Not so. We’ve guaranteed the rights of EU citizens in our country and we expect to see reciprocity from the EU countries towards our people in return as they have indicated they will. This can be achieved by negotiation.

I’m talking about future generations, not the status of people like me and my EU counterparts who’ve made the move already. You know full well that you’re looking to end freedom of movement. It works both ways of course. In the meantime though - happy new year

You have nowhere near “ guaranteed the rights of EU citizens”. Because of Brexit, the EU can legally only give UK citizens the rights that other 3rd party countries have unless UK signs up to SM and FOM. UK has not made any guarantee about the reciprocal health funding.
