Well said Rachel - I totally agree. Ageism still very much alive, but starting again at any age can be fantastic. Was an intern aged 48 after being home with kids for 15 years....now published 4 times by The Spectator....today on productivity!
No, I did NOT say that apprenticeships are the right option for ALL older women. But I DID challenge the ageist stereotype that offering ANY older woman an apprenticeship is "an insult.". Would absolutely love to know who is going to offer someone between the ages of say 60-63 an apprenticeship when they're then eligible to retire between 64-67. 16 and 17 year olds find it difficult enough to get one.

SO when a so called "work coach" "offers" a 65 yr old a £3.50 hr apprenticeship,so they can hit their target & get their bonus,& the 65 year old says no thank you...you can assure us that the 65 yr old won't get sanctioned for turning down the "offer"?
