I didn't hear Rachel's speach, but access to education for any age group should be applauded. Many people want to work after retirement age and would probably welcome the opportunity to do apprenticeships even if they're earning a nominal amount at the same time.
Many older women want to work, retrain, reskill, stay in work or change career. Not all want to finish work at 65. This opportunity should be open to people of all ages as a positive choice, if it’s right for them. Many women who have chosen to do this report high satisfaction.

Of course, it should be open to all ages & anyone interested will seek it out. Maybe it was inadvisable for Government Ministers to use this in a
#WASPI debate. It is not addressing the real issues. In particular Little/No Notice of a 6YR hike in SPA. -
No problem with it if they "want" 2 become a £3.50 hr apprentice.However I suspect that so called "work coaches" will push (sanction) them into it so they can meet their own target and get their bonus! I can't find the high satisfaction report that the MP claims.

my wife works in care she is 64 and has to work till she is 66 she has to lift people who are20stn and people with dementia my wife has had had a hip replacement because of her work how can you expect any 65 year old do an apprenticeship at that age

Have you tried to get paid work post 55+ that isn’t zero hrs/temp ? If your job is cut it is hard to get back in the longer you are out. Little real support out there esp for those with quals above lev 3.

Many older women don’t want to be offered patronising faux advice to hide that gov stole their pension rights. Many older women are too busy caring for dependents. Many older women think you should take a real hard look at yourself.
