Government could have allowed the Labour amendment. They didn't and you didn't - with assistance from the DUP your Government paid for to prop you all up. Hardly something to be proud of when cheering.

The Labour amendment wasn't just the nurses pay, it was most of the Labour 2017 manifesto. The whole thing was a trap.

As I recall , the nurses at this time had not had a pay rise in 8 years and were not keeping up with inflation whilst MPs had received ( awarded themselves ) 2 pay rises in the same period and were ahead of inflation. MPs actions currently are hypocritical .

The arguement still stands though. There would have been MORE pressure to lift the cap sooner had the vote passed. Just another in a long list of examples where Tory MP's vote as they are told as opposed to what is best. The incessant jeering in the Commons is sickening
