This is important to remember. It’s also important to remember that we have a Prime Minister who referred to people as ‘pickaninnies’ and ‘letterboxes’. The language of discrimination, mockery and hatred must never be tolerated. That is how the Holocaust began.
Today marks the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Bergen-Belsen by the 11th Armoured Division. I join @HolocaustUK in remembering all those who lost their lives, while also recognising the bravery of the British troops who brought back hope for so many #Belsen75
