Government thinking/policy shouldn't be hidden behind paywalls (at least this is now removed) or leaked by unattributed sources to Robert Peston for late night blogs.

I am sorry Rachel. I have read this & that is not a plan. It's a combination of repeating the obvious with a cut and paste of bits of "science." We are learning far more from the clear advice of WHO and other Countries actions & experiences which is in contrast to the UK.

If they had held a public daily update - which they are finally starting tomorrow - I think some of the uncertainty would be managed better. Instead policy has been leaked to favoured hacks and dripped out by the likes of todays Hancock studio tour.

Strange that this ‘advice’ is published through a right-leaning newspaper and not the NHS or BBC. Why is that? I do hope the print version is accompanied by a large photo of the glamorous Duchess of Cambridge, the Telegraph poster girl.
