I agree with you Rachel There’s no place in modern politics for any kind of intolerance. I would feel really sorry if someone refused my friendship because I am @RedditchTory - they don’t know what they’re missing!

I have friends and family of all political persuasions. It’s all part of life’s rich pattern.

My father was a Labour man. My mother a Tory. They could overlook that to marry (although she did try to make him see the error of his ways). I find the New Left to be loathsome, given their intolerance.

Perhaps it's because the traditional, fairly moderate right Conservative party has been overrun by the extreme right English National Party, and what was recently fairly centre left Labour is now full of hard left, the divide is too great to work towards agreeing on.

How very true. My whole family are made up of voters of all the main 4 political parties. We all agree to disagree.

I'm not surprised.
