As kind Twitter folk have said the cost of #DomesticAbuse estimated to be £66 billion (not million) in 2017. Can’t put a cost on emotional physical and psychological pain. I want the Govt to pass the Bill so that we tackle this evil crime #DAbill pic.twitter.com/Rk4Nkj2fH0

It would not have actually. PM very clear that it would have been included in a Queen's Speech.

Think you've got a cheek saying this given it was a private members bill that got filibustered by Philip Davies 2 years ago and been delayed time again - here we are at last and can get on with it now. Nothing about the PM is very clear - that's the problem.

The main thing is it’s happening. Politics is about getting things done not scoring points

Completely agree Phil - its a very good thing -and a joy for all of us in the House across all parties to be working on something that can genuinely improve people’s lives and alleviate suffering.

It’s cross party cooperation that will heal the wounds imho. There is a real opportunity now for individual politicians to forge a new type of less tribal politics which is really what is bringing the House into disrepute

Or course cross party is good and does happen frequently. But it still falls short of key points & funding. Domestic Abuse Bill in Commons today. But does not include what govt promised in May - duty on councils to provide & duty on govt to fund refuges. If govt don’t put duties in Bill, MPs working cross-party will @womensaid @RefugeCharity
