Stop using education as political footballs to gain power over other parties. You could use citizens assembly of parents, teachers, industry - even school kids - to establish long term ground work for education. Thus removing temptation for political parties to tinker.

@redditchrachel !! Whilst there’s room for improvement within both Ofsted and SATS, transparent accountability is key and as much information as possible should be available to parents as they make key & difficult choices re schools. -
100's of schools haven't an Ofsted inspection for a decade so can't be that transparent or accountable. Unfortunately

SATs are not the solution to school performance. Teachers hate them, the kids shouldn't be stressed with them at that age. Maybe if we weren't as focused on league tables we might actually teach the kids something about a subject as opposed to how to pass the exam !
