Theresa May shows huge dignity as she leaves office, and has a number of achievements to be proud of. I’ve been fortunate to have seen first hand her support for women in public life and to have worked on her policies of ending domestic abuse and tackling the gender pay gap.
Her central message is absolutely right - compromise is an honourable position and is much needed now. #Brexit is an enormous and difficult challenge. She stands for the pragmatic, moderate and modern Conservative values that led me into politics.
I’m saddened to see her go, but it is a good opportunity for us to look to the future, deliver Brexit, honour the referendum result and restore trust in our politics.
