As I prepare return to Westminster next week I want to make it clear to my constituents that I will not be supporting any moves reported in the press to take “no deal” off the table. Anyone who has negotiated anything knows you have to hold your nerve to get the best outcome.

The EU know we that a no deal would see economic collapse in the UK, we have no bargaining tool. They will push us into a no deal and we will walk away with nothing. Disaster, why can’t you see that?

And moreover we will be fine without a deal. We're probably better off with one - it's a nice-to-have - but if we leave without one that isn't the end of the world. And we get to keep the £39 billion too.
