The proposal isn't to stop you praying. You can pray if you want but do it out of the formal sitting. Religious liberty is a broad concept, not a narrow one: holding prayers in the formal sitting is imposing them on those who don't wish to take part

That’s the whole point. They are NOT imposed. It is private, not televised as the formal sittings are. Many MPs can and do choose to enter the Chamber only after prayers are finished. We are talking about 3-4 minutes only.

Spot on Rachel.

I really don’t know how you can reconcile your party’s policies and actions with being a Christian.

St Stephen’s Chapel is a wonderful place of Christian worship in the heart of the Palace of Westminster. Why not invite Christian MPs to conduct their morning prayers there instead of imposing their religious views on others.

Institutionalised prayers are an imposition on the non-religious and serve no purpose. They violate freedom of and from religion. Two hands working achieve more than a thousand clasped in prayer.

You can do that in your car, right? Before the working day begins! If your mindset needs daily prayers then I don't see why they have to be at public expense. Why not do the full, best positive thing of yoga & get everyone a Yoga mat? You're not getting paid to be a Christian.

It’s 2019, how can you do responsible work if your first act is to worship a Stone Age myth?
-
What year...exactly...and why did this become irresponsible? Or is this a lazy "it's the current year!" fallacy?

If you are hearing voices you need to see a doctor...although the current PM could not be a better representative for the hypocrisy of religion with policies that have harmed the most vulnerable; increased poverty, homelessness & crime - people use religion to justify their hate
