A room full of my constituents of all political persuasions and none and joined me Parliament today on my #mpbustour. Split leavers and remainers. Overwhelming majority by show of hands supported the PM’s deal. No leavers had changed their minds. Only 10% supported either No Deal

Or people’s vote. No big swing from Remain to Leave. No mass defection of Conservative voters. A lot of admiration for PM and understanding how b** difficult her job is stuck between a rock and a hard place

The main concern was impact on people - EU citizens in Redditch and people’s relatives who had moved to the EU. Worth reminding those who voted against the deal or who favour a No Deal, there are NO protections for our citizens in EU countries, even though we have guaranteed

The rights of EU citizens in the UK. Also worth stating that the people who voted leave were neither all old, rich, privileged, misled, or uneducated. It is my duty to honour their vote and I will continue to fight for that.

I'm pleased to see a step in the direction I espouse. Some further steps would include a truly random selection of participants, and a deliberative component with a cohort-written output. One is likely to have biases with ones buses! But these results are informative! Actual Data

Would love to read a written summary of the event. There is also confirmation bias where more credence is given to cases that confirm prior convictions, possibly erroneously.

I think this speaks volumes for how the nation want this issue settled and for us to move on.
