Average earnings in the UK are still £13 lower than they were a decade ago. Job insecurity is now "widespread", with 800,000 workers on zero-hours contracts with two thirds of children and working age adults in poverty belonging to working households. @redditchrebecca

Not that impressive a statistic, UK inflation during the same period has increased by 21%. So in real terms not a huge difference. In addition wages decreased considerably after the bankers crash between 2008 and 2010 so in 2010 wages were already at very low point.Disappointing

35% since 2010. That's an extra £125.80 a week compared to 8 years ago. Earnings are still lagging behind the UK & West Midlands average, and more needs to be done to address this, but wages are moving in the right direction.
