This is the number one issue i hear from small businesses in Redditch particularly in the town centre so I’m delighted to hear this which will make a big difference. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-45998550 …

The only negative aspect to that (sorry to highlight) is less business rates coming in to local councils who now need this income to keep providing services which everyone expects, as central government have cut almost all funding and told councils they must use these rates.

It’s worth remembering that lower tax rates always result in a higher tax take; because more businesses will be created, but I do agree with you broadly and have been making this point vigorously on behalf of #Redditch Borough Council to Ministers!

To be honest I believe that most of the councils collect in the region of 80-95% of rates dependant were you are in the UK, but no one more then me hopes this works as the benefits improve jobs and putting much needed funds back into the community.

Surely by this logic the tax rate should be 0.0000000001%?

Yes, there is a limit to that thinking. It becomes illogical by definition.
