I know its slower but I always used Chiltern and never had to stand. Also much cheaper. Haven't been to London for 7 years though. Free parking for rail passengers at Solihull or Dorridge as well.
I am on Chiltern. Always use it because usually more seats! Virgin never has any.

When I worked at AT&T Head Office in Victoria Street twice a week I always used them. So friendly people and much more reliable on timing. Had excellent trolley service as well in those days.
