    is finished! Paint your own mountains, oceans, and valleys. It will procedurally generate rivers and biomes based on wind, evaporation, and rainfall. Rendered in 3D to look like hand-painted 2D.

    imagine how much more comprehensible academic papers would be if literacy in visual communication was as universal as literacy in writing idk why we treat diagrams & illustrations as subordinate to the written parts of papers when they’re often more important for comprehension

    When I learn computer things, I really need to able to experiment and play around with them! So the SQL zine also going to come with a little SQL playground website (using sql.js) that you can use to run any query you want to try on the example tables in the zine.

    "Betweenness centrality" is a graph metric defined by a number of shortest paths going through a node/edge It's easy to understand it if you draw shortest paths with transparent ink. The more paths go through an edge the brighter it becomes and the higher its centrality value is

    Recursive subdivision is not the best way to flatten quadratic Béziers to polylines. Here's a better way: . Hopefully catnip for my followers who are really into 2D graphics and math.
