This thread is horrifying but what’s worse is I am not remotely surprised at these kinds of incidents after 4 years of making othering a mainstream political tactic! /thread

No matter what their preferred outcome, it would be nice if the govt could conduct itself with just a smidgen of grace and decency, instead of vitriolically attacking others for the behaviour it itself is engaging in.

The govt position is that the EU is reneging on its deal,by including the things in the deal which the UK signed up to. That is so powerfully insane.

And of course it is 'rebranding' with a purpose. As with 'Canada style' or, again, 'Aussie style' (for immigration), the message is meant to be 'those countries do ok and seem quite nice places, so it must be fine'. More gaslighting than rebranding.

The might like to publish this, if they are REALLY owning the Brexit Debacle! Just tell the country that there will be No Unity until the NONSENSE STOPS!

We hope you are wrong, - but it is a slim hope. The odds are definitely on your being right. Johnson wants a huge clash - there can be no other explantion for his behaviour right now 😡

My guess is the Tories will fabricate a huge clash with the EU. The right-wing press will then demand we crush Brussels by becoming a "buccaneering, offshore, low-tax nation" (Daniel Hannan's words). Slashing taxes on the rich will become patriotic - ERG heaven!

Anyone else been subject to a variety of tweets from leavers placing blame for brexit on Remainers? I've been subject to quite a number, anyone would think they're a bit worried about something? Now they've got their brexit why are they already doing a blame game?

Proof that, at least for some, Brexit is not about disliking the EU but about disliking things foreign. Town twinning has nothing to do with the EU. It was started after WW2 to create ties and prevent further war, a wholly good thing. Only cretins think otherwise.

Who cut 21,000 police officers? Who cut 24,000 police staff? Who closed 600 police stations? Who cut CPS? Who privatised the Probation Service? Who closed our courts? Who cut the Prison Service? Who claimed it’s not about numbers?

I am not sure about this cartoon. You can accuse the EU of many things but moving the goalposts on any final deal is a bit of a stretch

The man responsible for yesterday's attack in was released from prison only days ago having served a sentence for terror offences. Something is clearly going seriously wrong - and the Government have serious questions to answer.

The 1688 "glorious revolution" was contested for another sixty years in Great Britain, effectively ending only with an actual battle in 1746, and it is still contested to this day in the island of Ireland

“The UK offers 39 weeks paid parental leave,” says . For 33 weeks of that, the “pay” is at a rate of £7,696 a year, which absolutely no one can live on. It’s all filth. As always. Every word.
