I once had a manager with a vendetta against me put me on performance review and tell me I could lose my job if I didnt obey him, when I eventually went to HR about him being a bully they said he was saying BS and didnt understand why I was on a review
Oh geez. It's good to know that what power he had was clearly only in his head, so it wasn't something anyone could see and needed convincing of. But what an asshole..

I was so terrified, it was my first job in games and he was sniping my every word and movement, I didnt know that wasnt on me until a colleague who was new to the team DMed me like ' I think your manager is really harsh...' and I was like, OH FCK FINALLY, ITS NOT JUST IN MY HEAD.

Urgh. Unfortunately in our first jobs we don't know any better, which is why we need that additional support so it's great that you had someone identify that for you. Hopefully you no longer had to work with this person and you haven't been put in that situation again.
