If anyone is interested, it's an educational game from around.. '98-'00s? It's based on mars and you have to solve mini-games that include; Pac-Man, Symbols, Mathematics and the like. It is incredibly obscure but it's the one game me and my sister just cannot find.
So a colleague found a forum post that described what I was searching for to the T. He was ecstatic thinking that he made a breakthrough.

Mine was a snooker game that came with the 128k spectrum, I don’t remember the actual name so that doesn’t help I suppose!

I had that. It was called Zoombinis. I only found out digging through my mum's attic to find the original CD. Good luck if yours is digital! 
We did have this on CD but I searched the entire house and could not find it. 
I been struggling with this for 15+ years with a game on the Commodore 64 where you play as a Doctor and fire whirlwinds at enemies. O_o
Oooh this sounds like a game I'd play. Have you gone through Wikipedia's list of all of their games? That's going to be my next task...
Yep, there was an old RPG type game on some of the PCs at my middle school... can't for the life of me remember what it was called, but I remember it was fun to play.
