Hey friends! I'm curious about management training in the games industry and I'd appreciate your thoughts! As a lead or person in charge of other devs, have you ever received management training or mentoring upon taking a more senior role?

Yup! That was paid for by a previous company. It was only for two days but those two days were INCREDIBLY valuable. However, this wasn't for taking a senior role, it was more of a sanity check on whether we are doing things right/need to improve.
Prior to that though, it was training by learning as assistant/intern. So, it depends on what kind of 'training' you're looking for. It's also primarily learning myself, practising and seeing where I can continuously improve.

I'm really happy you got that! I'm putting together a talk atm about ways to improve unhealthy burnout culture and the lack of management training feels like a huge oversight when having a smoothly running company.
