The "transition as butch flight" narrative erases butches who modify their bodies to relieve dysphoria, transmasculine butches and butch trans women. Transitioning can be a way of expressing butchness. Framing it as an attack on butch lesbians is just transphobic bullshit.
It took me close to two decades and a lot of struggling to accept I really could be both transmasculine and butch. I don't want anyone else to go through that. Trans butches of various backgrounds/experiences deserve space to exist as we are & to hell w/ narratives that erase us.
I think @Finn_Mackay did some really good work collecting stories from butches and transmasculine people fleshing out the often erased borderlands here.
